Born in the heart of Chianti Classico, the company has been able to evolve while keeping its identity intact, combining tradition and innovation. With five estates spread across Tuscany, Sicily and Basilicata, Piccini 1882 tells the story of the diversity of Italian territories through quality wines and a production philosophy based on respect for terroir and sustainability.

Five generations serving the earth

The long history of Piccini 1882 has its roots in the heart of Chianti Classico. In the shadow of the rolling hills Tuscan, starting with a handful of land, Angiolo Piccini founded a small winery, destined to write the fortunes of Tuscan wine. The year was 1882. Since then , the company has carved out a prestigious position within the domestic and foreign wine scene, now boasting a solid presence in more than eighty countries around the globe. From its headquarters, located in Casole d’Elsa, Piccini 1882 presents itself as the bold ambassador of Italian wine.

Over the centuries, the winery has always maintained unchanged its philosophy, which for nearly 140 years has animated every its bottle. The guardian of this tradition is the Piccini family, which has led the company for five generations, following the spirit and values of its ancient progenitor Angiolo Piccini. La whose vision is enshrined in a phrase he was often fond of repeating that perfectly sums up the company’s philosophy:

“It doesn’t matter how much you do, but how much passion you put into what you do.”

On the wings of these principles, Piccini 1882 stands stands as a guarantee of excellence, in the sign of the highest territorial identity, with a focus on historic wine realities. Along with a deep respect for tradition, the winery has always had the courage to look to the future with ambition, as evidenced by the modern rebranding undertaken in 2021. Earlier this year, the winery announced its change of appearance: the old name Tenute Piccini gives way to the new Piccini 1882 brand, the culmination of a radical path of growth for the Group.

Mario Piccini, the company’s chief executive officer, enthusiastically welcomes the operation:

“With Piccini 1882 begins a new chapter in our .. It is a brand that will allow us to be more distinctive and clear in the messages and initiatives in which we will be protagonists. If Tenute Piccini represented the plurality and ensemble of our wineries, Piccini 1882 is a unicum: it is the parent company that encompasses all the estates and the emblem of the value universe that has always guided our daily work.”

From Chianti Classico to Etna: the estates project

Piccini 1882 has the ambitious goal of telling the story of wine Italy through its excellence. For this motivation o, as well as the popular “Piccini” brand, the historical family tuscanyinaugurated the estates project; cin five slices of Italy that encapsulate the best of our country’s wine scene. The common thread that connects and animates the five estates is respect for a production philosophy that enhances the close connection between the wines and their place of origin, highlighted by the organic regime being observed since the 2018 vintage. In Tuscany, thehe oenological path traced by the Piccini family passes through the sublime hills of the Chianti Classico region, skirts the wonderful Tuscan Maremma and then you losesin the enchanting lands of Montalcino. For the past few years, this rich array of proposals, were added the volcanic estates of Regio Cantina, in the Lucanian lands of Vulture, and Torre Mora, perched along the slopes of Etna.

Fattoria di Valiano: the home of Chianti Classico

Immersed in the green of Castelnuovo Berardenga, among the beautiful hills of Chianti Classico, Fattoria di Valiano boasts a total area of no less than 230 hectares, 75 of which are planted with vines. The vines, all organically managed, are constantly inspected by the watchful eye of winemaker Pasquale Presutto. His attentions are aimed at selecting the most expressive plots and winemaking , thus obtaining wines that are representative of the area and of the highest quality. The soul of the estate revolves around the production of the delicious Chianti Classico , for which two exclusive and specially dedicated vineyards are reserved. The immense passion, combined with the optimal climate and soil, create the essential foundation for the refined Valiano wines.

Estate Moraia: the echo ofthe Tuscan Maremma

Post in the heart of the Maremma Toscana, Tenuta Moraia covers 160 hectares. The Mediterranean climate and proximity to the sea guarantee an ideal microclimate for viticulture. The winery’s wines set themselves the ambitious goal of reinterpreting tradition in a modern key, while retaining the elegance typical of the great wines of the Tuscan coast. Each bottle of Tenuta Moraia is presented as a faithful expression of the terroir, with the specific intent of spreading the excellence of this superb corner of Tuscany.

Villa at the Courtyard: the‘exaltation of Brunello

Bathed in Tuscan sunshine, Villa al Cortile covers the southern side of Montalcino. Its 12 hectares of vineyards run between the area of Montosoli and that of Lavacchio. From these lands comes a delicious Brunello di Montalcino that recalls its land of origin in every drop. Simplicity, balance and harmony are the three pillars that govern the production activities of the estate, which has always put quality before quantity; a philosophy that translates into the exaltation of Sangiovese. The caresses of the early morning sun melt the chill of the night, giving the fruit finesse and depth. The wines of Villa al Cortile are proud bishops of their territory and manifest in the bottle all the particularities of these hills.

Torre Mora: the triumph of Etna.

Torre Mora embraces the flanks of Etna, in a breathtaking setting that delights the eye and the palate. The slopes of the Sicilian volcano offer a unique territory for viticulture, due to the volcanic matrix of the soil, the altitude of 600-700 m above sea level and a significant temperature range between day and night. The absolute prince is Nerello Mascalese, which together with Nerello Cappuccio competes to create the delicious Etna Rosso DOC. The other main actor is the Carricante, a white grape variety that lends its freshness to Etna Bianco DOC. The impervious nature of the terrain obliges Torre Mora’s winemakers to confront continuous challenges, solved through the use of to spurred cordon in small flat areas and to sapling on terraces. Each wine of the estate expresses the authentic explosive soul of Etna and tells the ancient history of this land.

Regio Cantina: at the foot of Vulture

At the foothills of Vulture, in the green of unspoiled Basilicata, stands Regio Cantina. The estate’s 15 hectares of vines spread over a unique blanket of land: the lush scenery of Vulture. The ancient volcano rises on the plateau and like a father watches over the valleys below, endowing them with such exceptional terroir that this area is unique in the entire Mediterranean quadrant. The fruit of Regio Cantina’s vineyards is the exquisite Aglianico del Vulture, one of the greatest excellences on the Italian wine horizon. The estate has espoused a green line reflected in its choice of traditional methods and sustainable viticulture. However, Regio Cantina has also been able to arm itself with the most modern winemaking techniques, winking at the avant-garde.

For more than a century, Piccini 1882 has represented the excellence of Italian wine in the world.
